Click here to watch a video of our recent pour. See how it drains!Pervious concrete is very similar to traditional concrete
but it is porous and does not produce runoff. Permeable
pavement systems allow stormwater to infiltrate which
helps a project mimic the predevelopment hydrologic
function. This is important for groundwater recharge,
health of vegetation, pollution control, flood management,
etc. Because of its light color, pervious concrete also
reduces the “heat island” effect and reduces night time
lighting needs. These are just a few of the many benefits of
permeable paving systems.
PRDEI has been privileged to take part in over a dozen
successful installations of pervious concrete for Tahoe
Regional Planning Agency, Placer County, the Town
of Truckee and several private clients. We also provide
design for a variety of permeable paving systems using
vegetated pavers such as TurfStone TM and others.
